PGTO 0.7.27 Prerelease, and some Bad News
Announcement Of Some Importance
I'll keep this brief. I'm being forced to move out of my home. I don't know when, but it's imminent, so this might be the last chance I have to post this and I'd rather there be something to play with rather than nothing. I won't have a computer, I don't know when I'll get a computer, and I'm not writing json on a phone. The reality is that this is not finished, this is not how I wanted to "release" 0.7.27. There is lore I'm not happy with, there's lore that's missing, there's content that's untested, there's content that may be fundamentally non-functional. I wanted 0.7.27 to be the last significant content addition before I focused on the companion pdf. I don't know when that'll happen now. Most of what I've written is on Google Docs (part of why its so slow to work on, because gdocs fucking blows) so I might release that too at some point in its woefully undercooked state. If this is all you read, thank you.
As for me, I don't know what's gonna happen. I'm not hopeful, I'm not optimistic, but I still have people to spite so I'll be converting that spite directly into indomitable human spirit and I'll keep on keeping-on until I physically break. I have options, I have fallbacks, I have plans, but none of it is ready - that's the part I'm worried about most, the part between now and the safety nets where I'm at the mercy of the many systems that I feel have failed me over the years. This is not a dire plead for sympathy or a cry for help, it's just a very matter-of-fact update I wish I didn't have to post.
Changelog
I'll be honest. I don't remember exactly what I changed. It's been a long time, and I don't document my changes very well, so this is all very off-the-cuff. Here's the important stuff:
- Abbate License: Lore is complete.
- Rockstar Poleaxe: No longer has two profiles, instead uses a Limited system similar to the Legionnaire Battle Rifle and Superthermal Blade from "Operation: Winter Scar" to change the behaviour of its attack.
- Shredder Smartsaw: A lot of number tweaks.
- Clausius Frame: "Conductive Grasp" core power now has a heat transfer limit dictated by Grit. The days of superheating an enemy using Displacer to inflict the warmth of a thousand suns is over. It will not be missed.
- First Law: No longer has condition transfer functionality. This was a relic from an older version of Clausius that was, somehow, even more busted.
- Tungsten-Filament Whip: Now uses a Limited system similar to the Legionnaire Battle Rifle and Superthermal Blade from "Operation: Winter Scar" to change the behaviour of its attack.
- Thermodynamic Mod: It's dead. its been replaced with the Molecular Agitator Mod. It will not be missed.
- Heisenberg License: Lore has been added. I don't know if it's finished. It'll probably get another look-over in the future.
- Kazuli License: General lore touch-up.
- KAIROS: Top-to-bottom rework, from mechanics to lore. Far better than what it used to be, no longer blatantly overpowered - just Probably Overpowered now.
- KPS Specialty Licenses: They Exist Now. They have lore, they have functional equipment. Quite pleased with them.
- KPS Core Bonuses: Doctrine of Control has been outright replaced with the Doctrine of Miniaturisation, which lets you reduce the size of your mech among other things. Doctrine of Reflexes was also changed.
- Abrams:
- Talents: I probably changed them somehow. I don't remember. Sorry.
Known Issues:
- Newton's Core Power actions don't really work with how reaction rules are written. They need special attention and I've been neglecting them. Sorry.
